08/24/99
FIRST HALF 1999 SUBSIDENCE SURVEY REPORT
Survey Data
During the first half of 1999, subsidence survey data was collected periodically from
established monuments on Routt County Road No. 33, the Hayden-Gore Pass, Wolcott
Tap-Wolcott (PSC) and Western Area Power Administration power lines, two dwellings
and Middle Creek in areas underlain by gate roads or panel centers during periods of
mining in the 5 Right longwall panel. A profile of the creek showing the subsidence
effects due to the mining of the 5 Right longwall panel is attached as part of this report.
II. Structures
Structures affected during the first half 1999 reporting period include the Wolcott Tap-
Wolcott (PSC), Western Area Power Administration and Hayden-Gore Pass power lines,
Routt County Road No. 33, two dwellings and a small section of Middle Creek. Foidel
Creek and the Union Pacific Railroad were not undermined during the first half of 1999.
Visual inspections of the Vl'olcott Tap-Wolcott (PSC), Western Area Power
Administration and Hayden-Gore Pass power lines were conducted concurrent with the
surveys of the power poles from January 4, 1999 through June 26, 1999. No significant
damage to the structures was noted during this period. No repair work was required as a
result of TCC's mining activity.
Visual inspections of Routt County Road No. 33 between monument 109 and 111 and the
adjacent power line were conducted from Mazch 16, 1999 through May 23, 1999, 1999.
Minor changes in the road shoulder of the eastern-most portion of this segment were first
detected on Mazch 25, ]999 approximately 500' southwest of survey monument no. 109.
No repair work was performed in this area. Additional minor changes in the road shoulder
of the eastern-most portion of this segment were detected on March 29, ] 999
approximately 1000' southwest of survey monument no. 109.
