This data includes a water level measurement at Well 7. Water level increased substantially
in during 1998 from previous years. The depth to water was 50.33 feet, an increase of more than
6 feet from 1997. Total depth of the well is 110 feet. The water level has risen 50 feet in the last
five years. This increase in water level indicates the recovery of the potentiometric surface due to
cessation of mining at Canadian Strip and'more recently with the reclamation of the Kerr Mine to
the north. Water levels for the past 15 years are:
1984 Dry 1989 101.50 1994 90.50
1985 100.67 1990 103.50 1995 86.70
1986 102.04 ]991 102.25 1996 72.62
1987 102.25 1992 101.94 1997 56.67
1988 97.25 1993 101.58 1998 50.33
Quarterly pond inspections for the site have been submitted throughout the year. No discharges
occurred from either pond, however, water levels were near the dischazge point in both ponds during
May. Pond ]was dry during the October 7, 1998 survey.
Should you have questions or need additional information concerning hydrologic monitoring, please
do not hesitate to let me know.
Sincerely,
~~ ~~
Jerry H.
