However, a National Weather Service <br />meteorological station is located in Hayden, Colorado, approximately 1.5 miles north of the Loadout <br />facilities azea. The Hayden station (ID: 053867) has a monthly climatic period of record from 1931 <br />through 2005. However, the climatic data statistics are generated using [he period from 1948 through <br />2005 (www.wrcc.dri.edu, 2006). <br />Precipitation falls throughout the yeaz with the most significant precipitation occurring as rain during <br />the spring and fall months. The mean total precipitation Eor Hayden is 16.94 inches. The annual <br />precipitation recorded doting 2005 was 22.61 inches. The monthly precipitation was above average <br />Eor January through June, and then again during October through December -monthly precipitation <br />was below average for the summer growing season months of July, August and September. The <br />average snowfall in Hayden, Colorado is 113.3 inches. <br />The average mean annual temperature at Hayden is 42.8 degrees Fahrenheit (°F). The average <br />minimum temperature for the period 1948 through 2005 is 27.4°F and the average maximum <br />temperature is 58.0°F. The mean annual temperature during 2005 was 45.4°F, which is above the <br />long-term average.
