{ <br />Y <br />Groundwater: <br />(I) No gravity discharge is anticipated from any the old Somerset Mine portals. <br />There aze no data that speak to this directly, but some data that according to the permit, <br />purport to measure the degree of saturation of the Somerset Mine. H-10 groundwater <br />well is supposed to monitor the level of filling of the Somerset Mine. <br />Could Oxbow MLLC respond with information that can't be found in either the permit or <br />the AHR relevant to this issue. Specifically, what water level is well H-10 (or was H-10) <br />measuring? Is the well nearby or into the collapsed workings? Just what is being <br />measured by H-10 (and B-6, the other well stated to indicate the level of filling of the <br />Somerset Mine.) This is purely an information question to help in the evaluation of the <br />data. <br />(2) Mine inflow predicted at 235 gpm with a TDS of 2731 mg/l. <br />Data indicate the actual inflow falls well within the predicted values. <br />(3) Localized temporary effects will be noted including altered groundwater flow <br />patterns, depletion of seeps and springs, and an increase in TDS and other species in <br />groundwater. <br />This is possibly true, as indicated by several springs which have stopped flowing. The <br />experience in the same sequence on the South side of the river, however, indicates the <br />likelihood that most, if not all, the springs aze of meteoric origin, deriving their flow from <br />within colluvial deposits.
