1
MINREC, INC. ANNUAL HYDROLOGIC REPORT PAGE 2
Conductivity - Two Cole Parmer pocket size testers with different
range capabilities. Accuracy: +/- 2$ FS. Temperature compensation:
' automatic 0 to 50 °C. Operating temperature: 0 to 50 °C. Range:
0 to 1990 and 0 to 19,900 umhos/cm.
' Depth to Water - A Water Level Indicator (M-Scope) is used to
measure depth to water. The cable is marked in 5-foot increments.
' A tape
marked measure is used
increments. The to determine accurate
water level in the No. distances between
3 Mine is measured
through a pipe that was used to discharge water from the mine when
the mine was in operation.
Temperature - A standard mercury thermometer which measures
temperature in degrees Celsius or a Cole Parmer microprocessor
based pocket sized temperature tester is used.
' Other parameters - Samples are submitted in bottles to either Grand
Junction Laboratories or SOLTESCO.
' SURFACE WATER QUALITY
' Appendix I contains the water quality information collected for
North Thompson Creek. The quality information taken on North
Thompson Creek, in May and September, is designed to monitor
' quality at the approximate high and low flow.
The variation of the quality of North Thompson Creek as it passed
' the mines this year was similar to that which would be expected
from the baseline monitoring data and the fact that the Abandoned
Mined Lands peat bog water treatment system is discharging into the
' creek between the upstream and downstream water monitoring points.
GROUND WATER QUALITY
' The results of monitoring wells D-lA and D-2A which are located
' near the toe of the refuse pile are presented in Appendix II. D-lA
is directly below the refuse pile and D-2A is 200 feet to the west
of D-lA. Monitoring results for prior years are summarized by
quarter to make it comparable to the current monitoring schedule.
Graphs have been prepared which show quarterly water level and
conductivity measurements for both wells.
