i.
ANNUAL REPORT
(~~P*~"n~ /""~l
Operator: United Companies of Mesa County YY~~
FE9 0 5 2001
Division of Reclamation,
Location: Anderson Pit Mining and Safety
File Number: M-2005-021
Anniversary Date: February 1, 2007
This location was active during this report period. United worked on several items prior
to our crusher making its first and only appearance for the year to crush approx. 50,000
tons of redi-mix aggregates. We put in a painted left turn lane on eastbound Colo. Hwy.
92 at the intersection of Hwy. 92 and Delta County 1800 Road, replaced part of a "v"
ditch irrigation system with concrete pipe, constructed a haul road from Delta County
1800 Road to the southeast corner of the pit, constructed a haul road across the pit to the
first phase mining area, and stripped a portion of phase one mining area.
Other work in progress includes installation of water, gas, and electric lines to the
property and construction of a new redi-mix concrete plant to be located in the southeast
corner of the 160 acre property. This plant maybe completed by March of 2007.
Weed control was not satisfactory. This spring we will burn last seasons crop. We have
an agreement with a local rancher to plant alfalfa on approx. 105 of the 160 acre property.
This will keep the weeds down, continue the use of the irrigation water, and continue the
agricultural use of most of the land until it's needed for gravel mining. Better weed
management is planned on the remainder of the property this year as well.
The existing United grave] operation in Delta is nearly depleted. The Anderson pit will
eventually replace our existing location adjacent to the Delta Drive In.
Sincerely,
~ w,~~
Brent W. Kerr
Resource Manager
