It is USDA policy to enter into an Administrative Order on Consent (AOC) with potentially <br />responsible parties so there is an enforceable agreement regarding the cleanup. An AOC provides <br />you with some protection from future liability. [f you would prefer, we could issue an AOC <br />initially that requires completion of the SI and EE/CA. The data you have collected so far may <br />be most of what is required for an S[. Ultimately, we would plan to enter into an AOC for you to <br />implement the EE/CA. <br />I have enclosed a map showing location of patented land and some mine features. We used a <br />global positioning system to locate [he perimeter of dumps at both the 9700 and 9360 mines. <br />You can see that the 9700 level mine is on National Forest System lands. The dump below this <br />mine is also predominantly on the Forest. <br />A cooperative approach to cleaning up the site would be the best and most efficient way to <br />accomplish our land stewardship objective. It is our desire to continue this effort with you and <br />we aze willing to meet with you at any time to discuss future plans and alternatives.
