DMG Permit No. M-88-112 <br />Monthly Sampling <br />Dear Mr. Dillie: <br />All required sampling was completed during the month of January. Analysis that have not been <br />received will be forwarded to you as I receive them. <br />The NANOIRO water treatment plant operated intermittently during the month. A total of <br />16,944,300 gallons of water was treated and discharged into Rito Seco during the month of <br />January. <br />Work continued on the stormwater diversion on Woste Rock "C" and the project is approximately <br />80% complete. <br />All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry. <br />Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. <br />When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on <br />1 /26/00, the piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. <br />The two west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on 1 /26/00, with the following <br />result: BF-1 was 21.04 ft and BF-2 was 24.65 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area were also <br />checked with the following result: PW-1 was 23.11 ft, PW-2 was 23.23 ft, PW-3 vas 30.71 ft and PW-4 <br />was 29.20 ft. <br />The underdrain was measured at approximately 29 gpm. <br />The collection pond's leak detection system was frozen and we were unable to sample. <br />A SUBSIDIARY OF BATTLE MOUNTAIN GOLD COMPANY <br />P.O.
