For the next Annual Reclamation Report (and
for entries in applications for changes to the permit), please consider the following comments:
Total Number of Acres Disturbed: [On the Division form of the report, include all areas disturbed
in the current permit boundary. Note that 22 acres of disturbed area were removed from the permit
during the release of the Diamond A parcel. This 22 acres should not be included on the Division
form of a current annual reclamation report. A discussion that 22 acres of disturbed azea was
removed from the permit would be appropriate in the text of your supplemental information. Paved
roads and the truck dump were not included in disturbed areas (beginning with the Application of
1983). Please include the acreage of disturbance from the paved road and truck dump in future
reports.]
Number of Acres for Long-term Mining or Reclamation Facilities: [Please include the acreage
associated with the permanent paved road and truck dump, permanent dirt track across the pasture
(conveyor corridor), permanent gravel access roads in the Portal 1 area, long pond, two treatment
ponds, and permanent riprap relief drains (waste fill area) in this definition].
Number of Acres Seeded/Planted for the last 10 years or more (on the Division form): [As you
correctly reported, initial seeding/planting of areas (permanently) reclaimed aze appropriate to this
entry. Areas that were re-seeded (Portal 1 azea), areas that aze to be re-disturbed or that are a part of
the long-term reclamation activities (long pond embankments), vegetation protection to topsoil
stockpiles, etc. are not included. As you presented, a description of such activities is appropriate in
the supplemental text of your report. The disturbed areas of the trail to the fan shaft and the fan shaft
should be included in this number as they were seeded as part of final reclamation.]
