Spring 5-45 (a.k.a., the Olson Spzinq) is not a !luring spring, but a three-foot diameter
• wall placed in the alluvium of Dry Creek. Siace a roll ras drilled on the Olson ranch in
September 1980, this "spring" has not bean put to use, although it is rater-righted Por
stock vea. Tha electrical conductivity (EC) plot indicates a Qecseasinq trend.
Spring 5-46 is a developed eprinq Lirst monitoring during the 1979 spring aurwy. This
eprinq ie not part of the required monitoring program, horever, due to its strategic
locstion (immediately belor~ the 005 pond dam), monitoring at this eprinq hse been
wluntarily reestablished in 1992. Tha EC plot indicates a nearly level trend.
Spring S-d7 was first discovered by SCC personal in 1989 an6 was monitored lixst in Juna
1990. It is a developed eprinq existing alongside the mice entrance hnul road just to the
west of the saneca II-W Meteorological Station. It is not xequlre6 by the hydrological
monitoring program, monitoring ie wluntary. Zte EC plot indicates a level trend.
Spring S-d8, a.k.a. the Flander's Spring, roe developed by SCC in the fall of 1992 pas s
landomar'e agreement xith Ralph Flanders. it is not required by the hydrological
• monitozsnq program, monitoring is voluntary. Tha first lab sample roe taken on June 27,
1996. The EC plot indicates a decreasing trend.
Tha hydrology monitoring, program at the Seneca II-W Hine requires a spoil spring survey
awry yeas after the spxinq snorpack runoff. Ho spoil spriage have bean discovered.
Comparison o! Surface Water Quality to Water Use Standards. Water quality from all
stream, eprinq, and NpDES Bites sera compared against irrigation standards (Table 5, see
Ground Water section), and the comparison results are presented in Table 11 (Appandi: A).
Standards that ware exceeded era chlorides at one site, pe wlues at si: eitea, iron at
two cites, manganese at five sites, molybdenum at two sites, dissolved solids at four
sites, and sulfates nt ten vitae. Of all the surface rater sites dome tream of Sanaca IZ-
W, only Sites WSDS (Dry Creak) and WSSF3 (Sage Creek) haw their waters used fox
irrigation. Also, rater lrom Sita WSHF1 (lower evbbereon Gulch) has the potential of
being used for irrigation, although this has not been developed ae each.
Surlaca water quality data measured at all stream, eprinq, and HFDES eitea rare compared
. rith the etandazds list for livestock drinking rates (Table 6, sae Ground Water section)
11
