<br />1991 ANNUAL RECLAMATION REPORT <br />NAME: The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co. <br />Edna Mine <br />P.0. Box 176 <br />Oak Creek, CO 80467 <br />PERMIT #: C-80-001 <br />LOCATION & NUMBER OF ACRES DISTURBED: <br />Disturbance during 1991 was from topsoil stripping and mining, <br />activity. Approximately 50.9 acres of topsoil was stripped in the <br />Moffat Area. This area is shown in Exhibit 1 in the <br />attachments. About 7.6 acrPS of topsoil was stripped from <br />previously reclaimed ground on West Ridge. This topsoil was <br />stripped to facilitate grading activities in the area. This area <br />is shown in Exhibit 2. <br />Mining disturbance areas were limited to the Moffat Area. This <br />area covered approximately 42.6 acres and is shown on Exhibit 1. <br />LOCATION & NUMBER OF ACRE5 BACKFILLED AND GRADED: <br />Backfilling and grading activities encompassed a total of 68.4 <br />acres graded to final contours. An additional 12.2 acres along <br />West Ridge was backfilled but not yet brought to grade. Of the <br />68.4 total acres graded 44.4 acres were in the Moffat Area and is <br />shown in Exhibit 1. The West Ridge grading acreage is shown in <br />Exhibit 2. <br />LOCATION & NUMBER OF ACRES TOPSOILED: <br />Topsoil was replaced at the Moffat Area sediment pond. This area <br />covered 1.7 acres and the average replacement depth as sampled in <br />September 1991 was 1.6 feet. This area is shown on Exhibit 3. <br />The topsoil from this area was live handled. Topsoil stripped <br />from the Moffat area covered 50.9 acres part going to the pond <br />area mentioned above and the rest stockpiled in the active Moffat <br />stockpile. A total of 167,880 cubic yards was stripped from the <br />Moffat Area which equates to an average swelled stripping depth of <br />2.0 feet. Moffat Area topsoil stripping activity is shown on <br />Exhibit 1. <br />Topsoil was also removed from a previously reclaimed area on 'nest <br />Ridge. Approximately 13,860 cubic yards was removed from an area <br />covering 7.6 acres. This equates to a stripped depth of 1.1 feet. <br />This topsoil was placed in the West Ridge topsoil stockpile. <br />LOCATION & NUMBER OF ACRES SEEDED: aZ,l,, <br />g.~ <br />S~° <br />.y <br />
