2002-2003 Annual Report
Canyon Dolomite Quarry
M-1977-376
Castle Concrete Company
Anniversary Date: September 22
RECEIVEp
SEP 2 2 2003
Division ~f Minerals and Geology
Overview of Permit Year: This report is essentially the same as last year's report.
In March 2001 Castle Concrete purchased the Canyon Dolomite Quarry. Canyon
Quarry Company previously owned this quarry. The original owner and operator was
CF&I Steel Corporation.
Annual Report Map: The Annual Report Map being supplied is dated 1988. This
is the most recent map available. The map accurately depicts the site.
Activity: When Castle acquired this property a set of drill holes were found. In
2003, Castle hired a contractor to fill and blast these holes. Castle Concrete crushed,
screened and sold 61432 tons in 2003. Future activity at this site hinges on the market
demand.
Reclamation: Minimal reclamation took place over the year. The haul road was
patched up and graded from the heavy rain events earlier in the year.
Expected Activity: Castle Concrete is not planning on opening the mine "full-
time" at the moment. Periodic jobs will most likely occur in the future.
