Arkansas River calla are not administered on Hardacrabble Creek for two
reasons. The senior right on Hardacrabble Creek ie dated 1862. and ie
therefore senior to moat calla from the Arkansas River. Also.
Hardacrabble Creek reportedly goes dry in several places. so a call from
the Arkansas River on Hardacrabble Creek would not produce water.
PBOPOSBD WAiSR PLAN
Under the State Engineer's Rules and Regulations the Corley Mine well may
pump 41.4 acre-feet per year for decreed usage. This should offset
estimated mine depletions at the eaisting levels of mining. Therefore, no
administration ie expected.
The water pumped to dewater the mine may be utilized in the mining process
in quantities sufficient to allow maaimum projected mining levels without
causing injury to downstream water users. Under eaisting conditions on
Newlin Creek. these small volumes (5.5 acre-feet per month in the summer.
4.6 acre-feet per month in the winter) are not available for downstream
senior water users and if not used in the mining process. would be
wasted- to the dry. losing stream. IInder such circumstances. no
administration is anticipated. This conclusion is supported by the
historic practice on Newlin Creek where an eaisting upstream junior user
has never been administered.
Standard I~poeed By H.L.A.
