The addition of 7.3 acre-feet per year.
however. ie consumptive use by the coal preparation plant.
' The consumptive use of the coal preparation plant may increase
proportionally as coal production increases. as shown on Table 4, to a
' maximum of 12.0 acre-feet per year. based upon a projected maximum of
500.000 tone of clean coal processed by the preparation plant. Energy
Fuels estimates that the mine may produce this tonnage from 1986 until the
' completion of mining in 1996.

Do~eetic IIees
Domestic facilities include offices. changing room with showers.
cafeteria. and lavatories. The City of Florence currently ie providing
domestic water to the mine. with the water transported by tank trucks.
The records of water hauled indicates that an annual requirement for 1985
would be 1.4 acre-feet. The domestic water system uses a leachfield to
return effluent to the ground water system. With a consumptive use rate
of ten percent. the annual consumptive use of water by the domestic
facilities is 0.1 acre-feet. Since there is no outside irrigation and the
work force does not fluctuate seasonally. this rate of consumptive use
remains constant throughout the year. If the domestic water use increases
proportionally with the increase of mine production. a use of 2.4
acre-feet and a consumptive use of 0.2 acre-feet annually could be
eapected for future domestic water requirements. It should be noted since
domestic water ie hauled from outside of the Newlin Creek Besin. that a
credit against consumptive water use of the total mining operation can be
taken for the consumptive use and the flows returned to the stream system
from the imported water.
D'aet Suppression Inside 1[ine
Water ie required for duet suppression inside the mine.
