..
r
14780 Highway 145
Dolores, CO 81323
hsiebert Jmsn.com
May 20, 2004
Mr. Tom Bird
National King Coa]
4424 CR 120
Hesperus, CO 81326
SUBJECT: May 15, 2004 Field Review-Crawford Ranch
Present, Mazc Crawford, Tom Bird, Harry Sieber[
Deaz Tom,
Mr. Crawford did not see a need to fill cracks at this time. The location of a dam, on the
160 acre property that will be mined in the neaz future, was located subject to a field
check. The water impoundment and pipeline will be a future concern. Will continue
survey work this year before and after the irrigation season. Consideration of a once a
year survey after the irrigation season. This will require a more frequent walk through the
property.
Cracks were reviewed and the southeastern set might be filled this summer.
The mine staff will locate the impoundment on a map.
April monitoring readings did not indicate a significant loss of elevation and no impact
on the Crawford residence.
Having Maness & Associates take over the monitoring was discussed. Ernie Maness
would be agreeable if I would be available on a limited basis. Ernie and I discussed the
need for an up to date base map and what would be the most appropriate map.
The missing survey point TBM SB #2 was located, for future reference-the cap is
between a metal utility box and a angular brown boulder a distance between the points is
31 feet and the cap is 18.5 feet from the comer of the utility box. Caps should be replaced
by cleaning out a small area around the casing for the cap to fit on the casing. Tom really
found the casing.
Sincerely,
v/'/,~.
~-~~
Harry L. Siebert, Consultant
cc: Mazc and Julie Crawford
