NPDES Discharge Sites
1. Sites are monitored under the appropriate NPDES discharge
permit.
Mine Inflow Monitoring
1. What is the period for the units million gallons/period?
2. Figure 92 is not mine inflow results as specified in the
text.
3. Past reports have made comparisons between total mine
inflows and mine water discharge. Some totaling of mine
inflows and mine water discharge should be made, similar
to a mine water balance analysis.
4. What is the significance of points numbered 9-19 on the
mine inflow map? Are points 1-8 missing from the map?
Water Ouantitv and Quality
Bedrock Wells
1. Field pH values are abnormally high for 91M006,
91M001, 91M004, 006-BRDH7, 91M005, and 001-83-107
for the 1995 water year. Please explain these -
unusually high pH values. -
(1994 AHR review comments are included in italics for
reference only)
1. Water levels in the Wadqe overburden in FBRIlA, which is
located some 10,000 feet from the subsided area, shows a
water level decline of approximately 60 feet starting in
1992. At 800 feet from the subsided area at well 91M006,
the water level decline is approximate 275 feet. A
decrease in TDS in well 91M006 is also noted, possibly
due to a gradient reversal due to adjacent underground
mining and subsidence. Observed drawdown is within the
range predicted in the Probable Hydrologic Consequences
(PHC) portion of the approved permit.
1. The water level in Wadge well FBR-11A has risen to new
maximum levels for the period of record. The water level
in well 91M006 has not yet recovered, but the declining
water level trend appears to have ceased. TDS levels
continue to decline slightly from 1994 values.
