A natural disturbance occurred during July 2006. The internuttent stream bordering the west edge
of the properties experienced flash-flooding. Huge quantities of sediment filled the old channel,
expanding outwazds about 40 yazds across and covering F.S. Road 211. Flash flooding occurred for
over a quarter mile up the channel. Silt and debris covered to within a foot of the tops of the fence
line bordering the road. This flash flooding did not enter the disturbance area under this permit.
Reclamation Accomplished to Date:
The azea in which the pipe was laid has been reclaimed. No other reclamation is apparent.
The topsoil storage pile and approximately one acre of relatively barren ground was reseeded during
fall, 2006.
Preceding Yeaz, 2005, Reclamation:
None significant.
Proposed 2007 Onerations:
Operations using either a Cat E110B or a John Deere 200 track hoe will be scheduled for late April
or late September depending on equipment availability and USFS approval.
Proposed operations will be to return the site to a simple open-pit operation. The upper pit will be
expanded slightly. Gravel will be dug and screened to remove larger rocks. A temporary grizzly
will be set up at the present screening site to accomplish this. The smaller gravel will then be
removed off site to process for topaz. The screened gravel, including the larger rocks will be
returned to the excavation pits. No piles of waste mck will be left by season close. Pits will be
partially or completely closed at the end of each season. Topsoil will remain stored in a pile un61
final reclamation of the present excavation sites takes place.
We will be dismantling the gray water system, pipes, some fencing, and removing some of the
debris from the site. All this will be taken offsite to a landfill.
Site visits, including mineral extraction, reclamation, and claim maintenance will be continued
throughout the season.
Anticipated 2007 Disturbances:
Less than an additiona10.15 acres will be disturbed at Site B. An additional 0.15 acres will be
disturbed at Site C to cover and temporarily reclaim areas being high graded.
Proposed 2007 Reclamation:
Approximately 0.05 acres at Site A may be reclaimed.
Other small pits where high graders have been active will be buried.
Reseeding will be done on any reclaimed areas.
