monitoring of the site and suitable habitats downstream. This infestation has been caught eazly and
the chances for full eradication aze good. Other weed growth intensity has declined this yeaz, mainly
due to the drought and unless growth activity increases with increased moisture supply,
implementing much control is probably not going have much effect this year. Effective control of
weeds requires good to strong growth activity in the plants to be controlled. The morn actively they
aze growing the more effective the control measures.
STATUS REPORT FOR CURRENT YEAR (2006)
MAPS AND PHOTOS: Following is a list of the maps that have been updated. The maps
provided with this report are intended to replace the previous map. Maps that do not require
updating are also listed. Maps that are not updated therefore become the current year map.
w~ Operation Status Map: Shows last year's disturbance azeas, new disturbance azeas,
and status of all disturbed areas. Other than the new information, the only change to
this map was to adjust the main road alignment slightly. During the preparation of the
2006 annual report it was discovered that the road on the maps was slightly different
from the alignment that has been used in the past. Often GPS measurements, when
transferred to the maps, place operational areas on top of the road. This was adjusted
so that overlap does not occur so readily.
Q~ Tamarix invasion map: the master map has been updated to show new Tamarix
invasion, but due to the small size of the invasion a new master map is not provided.
However, there is a detailed map of the actual infestation area. This is placed on top
of an Apri124, 2002, satellite image obtained from Ten•aserver-USA, the free aerial
photo and satellite image source sponsored by Microsoft.
Photos - Located at the end of the narrative are pages containing a few representative
photos of the site and various items discussed in the narrative. The included
CD contains a lazge number of other images.
TONNAGE OF MATERIALS MINED: 165,800 tons
COMPLIANCE WITH ACREAGE LIMITATIONS: The inventory format used in the table
below is derived from the acreage accounting table included in the newly amended Reclamation
Permit. So long as the acreage value shown in Line 8 is not less than zero (that is, a negative value)
the terms of the acreage limitations in the lease are in compliance. If the value in Line 8 is negative
then, at the minimum, appropriate action must be taken to immediately change the status of suitable
land so Line 8 is at least zero and preferably a positive number.
report for 2006 (July 15, 2006) Page 2 of 13
