.~ - - -- - - <br />January 27, 1999 <br />Mr. Kent Gorham <br />Senior Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Minerals and Geology <br />21S Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, CO 80203-2273 <br />RECEIVEC <br />JAN 2 8 1999 <br />Division of Minerals 8 Geology <br />RE: Lorencito Canyon Mioe (Permit C-96-084) Annual Reclamation Report for 1998 <br />Dear Mr. Gorham: <br />By this letter, Lorencito Coal Company, LLC hereby submits the 1998 Annual Reclamation Report <br />for the Lorencito Canyon Mine. <br />Lorencito Coal Company, LLC is the permittee and Mr. Jerry Koblitz is the local contact person. <br />The company address is 131 1 Bentwood Drive, Evansville, Indiana 47711. The permit area is <br />located on 17,862 acres of private land approximately 3 miles west of Segundo, Colorado at an <br />elevation of62S0 MSL in Section 33, T33S, R66W. Proposed mine disturbance includingthe mine <br />areas, facilities areas, sediment control system, and ancillary facilities will eventually occupy <br />approximately ] 161 acres. No disturbance has occurred under this permit as of this date. <br />To date, no reclamation activities associated with the permit have been required. Some drill pad <br />reclamation was completed in 1996 as a result of the Notice of Intent exploration activities. <br />Since mining activities were not started in 1998, no monitoring of wildlife in affected areas was <br />conducted. This monitoring will begin as mine development is initiated.
