M-77-208 <br />1996 -1997 <br />The purpose of this repon is to comply with the Mined Land Reclamation Acc of 1976, <br />Statute 34-32-112 of House Bill No. 1065. This report follows the requirements covering annual <br />reports in the Rules and Regulations of Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Boazd, Section 2.4. <br />The permit for the Lyons Quarry was issued on June 4, 1978. <br />This repott shows the locations of continuing operations and azeas in the process of being <br />reclaimed, The map legend indica[es the activity, the azeas affected, and the total acreage for each <br />type of opera ion. <br />There aze 23.8 acres of major disturbance: <br />• Mining and Stripping (Section C2) ............................ 23.8 Acres <br />There aze 33.3 acres of moderate disturbance: <br />• Stockpile, Waste Dump and Equipment Storage Area (Section AS} ....... 27.3 Acres <br />• Explosive Storage Area (Section A6) ........................... 4.8 Acres <br />• Limestone Stockpile Area (Section C1) .......................... 1,2 Acres <br />There aze 187.30 acres in various stages of reclamation: <br />• • Backfilling (Sections A1, A2, A7, B2, D1) ...................... 45.7 Acres <br />• Grading (Sections C3, C4, C5, C6) ........................... 30.1 Acres <br />• Grading and Contouring (Section A8) .......................... 3i,0 Acres <br />• Grading Complete (Section B2) .............................. 25.7 Acres <br />• Topsoil Replaced (Section E1) ............................... 54.8 Acres <br />There aze 66.4 acres tha[ have been reclaimed: <br />• 2,000 Acre-Foot Water Storage Reservoir {Sections A3, A4) ........... 66.4 Acres <br />Plans for the reporting period from September 1997 to September 1998 include: continuation of <br />mining in portions of the C Pit and in the southwest comer of A4 and to continue reclamation <br />activities. Southdown, lnc. anticipates that Section E1 will be planted this fall and that Section C4 <br />will be seeded next spring. <br /> <br />
