Mount:
This letter is being submitted on behalf of SW Chambers, LLC to request a technical revision CCR}
to the above-referenced mine permit for the Heit Pit. Condition 2) of the Order approving the
permit required the applicant to monitor groundwater levels for a minimum of sixteen montkts and
to submit a TR with a specific Groundwater level "trigger" and information on measures which will
be used in the event of adverse impacts to groundwater from the operation-
The scope of this TR is based on the Order, and the conversation between Ms. tinny Duncan of
SW Chambers, LLC and you on 7uly 8. 2005 to clarify the scope. It is also based on the
Groundwater Er~alr~ation for the Proposerl Heit Aggregate O/~ercdion (WWE March ?003) and the
Groundwater Morrrra'irrg and Mitigation Plcnr for Heir Aggregate Resource Operation:... ('WWE
July 2003). These reports were provided to Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology ;DMG)
during the mine permitting process.
INFORMATION FOR TR
Piezometer location map. Ten piezometers were installed in March 200A. See attached Figure 1
far their locations.
Piezometer monitoring data. The piezometers have been monitored from March 2004 to Au~~ust
2005 (18 months). The data are shown in Table I and summarized in Table 2.
Piezometric surface maps. Figure 2A shows the average piezometric surface durin~~ the growing
season (May through October). Figure 2B shows the non-irrigation season (November through
April) average piezometric surface. A comparison of the two figures shows that the piezometrrc
surfaces are similar, but approximately 1-foot lower during the non-growing season.
Table 3 shows the monthly precipitation received Duct the monitoring period as coorpared with
average precipitation. The Greeley precipitation gage was used snce this is the closest ~agc to the
Heir Pit. Data from this station are similar to the loner term average of other weather stations in the
area (Table 4). As shown in Table 3, precipitation was close to the long-tetrn average for the
monitoring period (96 percent of the long-term average}.
.
