Eastside Mine
Summary of 1990 Hydrology Monitoring
Extent of Mining
No significant advances were made in 1990. The entries of the Eastside Mine
are advanced a total of 1100 feet. Three entries are driven on the strike.
Flow and Field Parameters
The flow and field parameters of the Harvey Gap Outlet above and below the
mine continue to demonstrate the seasonal discharges from the Harvey Gap
Reservoir. No ,significant deviations from the 1984-1989 data are noted.
Chemical Parameters
The chemical parameter results of the Harvey Gap Outlet above the mine and
below the mine fall within the ranges established in 1984-1989. The slight
increase in conductivity for the present year could be due to the rising
water level of the reservoir after the water level was drained to base
level during the irrigation season.
The 1990 mine water discharge results are quite similar to those for 1987,
1988, and 1989. This would be expected due to the small overall advancement
of the entries.
Impacts on Surface and Ground Water
No discharge has occurred from the sediment pond SP-1.
The hydrology monitoring data are listed on the attached tables found in
the Data and Statistical Information section beginning on page 5. A
comparison of 1990 data with 1984-1989 data indicates no impacts on
ground or surface water have occurred due to mining.
3
