Requirement
Require-ment
citation Require- '
ment ,
complied
with ? '
,
es/no i

Comment

i
the land surface down into the 3` White appears to have
~ occurred at well P-8 in East Pyeatt Gulch, but this seepage is
expected to be of very limited areal extent compared to that
~ expected in Flume Gulch where the pit area creating seepage
will be several times larger.
~ Flume Gulch alluvium -Like the 3rd White, the Flume
i
Gulch alluvium could be invaded by coal spoil leachate
~ seeping down from the ground surface downslope from
' springs that are expected to form in the gulch. The Coy well
~ is the ground water point of compliance for the Flume Gulch
~ alluvium, as explained on page 4-242 of the permit
application. Data from the Coy well in 2006 indicate
~ Trapper is in compliance with the Basic Standards for
' Ground Water for classification of Agricultural Use Quality
~ for the Flume Gulch alluvium in a Specified Area underlain
by saturated alluvium.
~ Other Stratigraphic Units -Points of compliance for other
' stratigraphic units elsewhere on the mine are not warranted
~ because they do not have the potential to be negatively
i impacted by mining at Trapper.
,
Each pit disrupts the potentiometric surface. After
reclamation, pits show full recovery of the potentiometric
S. Restoration of surface outside of backfilled pits and partial recovery of
ground water CDMG ~ potentiometric surface inside backfilled pits. Spoil springs
recharge to regulation yes ~ may reduce ground water recharge by diverting ground
approximate 4.05.11(3) water flow to surface flow, but Trapper's expected total
premining rate i aggregate spoil spring discharge of less than I cfs will be
too small to reduce recharge below the approximate
' reminin rate.
~ Page 4
