Extraction is ongoing on both the Phase III (Eastern) and Area D (Western) ends of
the property, and will continue at those locations through the year 2000. As the
end of the year approaches, the mine plan may be revised to reflect changes in
operation strategy, since the acquisition of the property from M&M Sand &
Gravel.
Reclamation has been limited to cleaning up the property and grading of
completed slopes along the completed portions of the Northern boundary of
Phase III. Due to pending actions by the City of Thornton to condemn the
property for purposes of establishing a reservoir, actions to modify or advance
mining and reclamation beyond the original plan may be delayed until the courts
have made final determinations respective of this matter.
