1995 RILL AND GULLY MONITORING REPORT <br />Seneca 2-W and Seneca II Mines RECEIVED <br />MAY 0 8 1995 <br />Seneca 2-W Mine <br />Division o~ wunerais ~ Ueoiogy <br />During March and April 1995, Seneca Reclamation supervisor, Roy Karo walked over the <br />reclaimed areas at 2-W. Three aeeas to watch and three areas to fix were identified in the <br />reclaimed land. <br />To be fixed: <br />006 Drainage south of oil well site, NOV C-95-006 <br />See TR and abatement plan <br />006 Drainage along newly reclaimed B pit highwall reduction <br />Re-grade and rip-rap where head cutting has occurred <br />Drainage from haul road at Neck Pit area where water was pumped from sump. <br />Need to regrade and rip rap channel to vvgin drainage. <br />To be watched: <br />Diversion 50 ft East of TS stockpile P2 <br />Gully is 1 foot deep, however this is a temp diversion and will be regraded when <br />topsoil pile P2 is moved or enlazged. <br />Reduced highwall at B pit new revegetation. West of stockpile L <br />Fresh topsoil has 4-8" rill. If vegetation does not slow this erosion by next year <br />Seneca will channelize and rip-rap where appropriate. <br />Two year old Revegetation East of TS stockpile P2. The rill which was regraded <br />in 1994 shows some erosion this year. If revegetation does not stop this by 1996 <br />Seneca will install contour ditches or channelize and protect this area as <br />appropriate. <br />CDMG/OSM inspection of March 28-31 identified several areas where road drainage has caused <br />erosion ,these areas will be maintained as weather permits. Since only three areas were identified <br />no aerial photo for 2-W is included. <br />
