.ermittee Name: ~ Albert Frei and Sons, In~ Page 2
Permit No: M-81-202_sG
Operation Name: Silt Pit, '
Anniversary Date: 11 / 27 / 93
2.4.1
(1)
Mining continued in the Stage 1 on area disturbed in previous
years. Stage 5 is still used as processing plant site and contains
gravel stockpiles, concrete casting beds and the office facilities.
An addition 0.97 acres ± was mine on the western side of the
property this year (orange) and we continued to remove material
from the 1.24 acre ± parcel shown as mined last year.. We have
13.81 acres ± of lake surface (blue), and 37.43 acres # stripped
ready for mining (yellow). The two topsoil stickpile,s contain
approx. 65,776 YD3 and covers 2.37 acres ±.
(2)
No reclamation was required this year. However we ,completed
reconstructing 2.02 acres ± of wetlands (bright pink) on the west
side of the property and completed rough grading along the east and
south side on the area mined this year. We have begun to resoil
the wetlands seed bed and will start planting cattails in'that area
when the water begins to fill the excavated area nett spring. Bank
sloping, topsoil re-spreading and revegetation will be done when
mining is complete in Stage 1. No reclamation will be required in
the undisturbed wetland area (pink) and riparian larea ('igreen) in
Stage 1, which cover 17.88 acres ±, since they wil'1 not be
disturbed. All of the large structural T's have been disposed of
that were on the site during the last inspection.)
(3)
Mining will continue in Stage 1 along the west side where it
is now taking place. We expect to mine another 2.100 acres ± this
year. Additional material will be removed from the lake ,bottom as
needed and more lake surface will be created to reduce the number
of acres needing revegetation.
(4)
No reclamation is required next year. As noted above we will
be working on the wetlands area on the west side and will
continue to do reclamation on the slopes as mining progresses.
(5) The current contact for this pit is:
Mr. Fred Frei (303) 876-2397
Flag Sand and Gravel, Co.
1412 311 Road
New Castle, CO 81641
Fed Tax ID ~
