i
obtained at these stream and NPDES sites ar e analyzed for the surface
wate~i parameter list, Table 8, during April, May or June, and September.
Spring sites axe monitored in
I the spring and fall seasons. The current
surface water and spring moni toring program is presented in Table 15-9
i
of the Yoast Mine PAP.
All ,surface water data collected during this. reporting period are
provided in Appendix D. Data provided for stream and NPDES sites are
a flow hydrograph, a water quality report,. and remarks (if present).
After the water quality report is a, statistics report .representing
baseline (i.e., premining) data for each site downstream of mining (when
available). ~ On this statistics report, "censored data" refers to
analytical values that were below the detection limit, which were
censored from the min/mar/mean calculations. The time frame for
baseline conditions is listed under "conditions specified" at the bottom
of each page. Also included are TDS plots using the LOWESS method and
TDS/milliequi valent tables (see preceding Ground Water Quality section). .
Data 'foi spring sites (YSPG series) included a water quality report, a
listing of historic flow values, electrical conductivity (EC) LOWESS ,
plots„ and TDS/milliequivalent tables.
Sage 'Creek
- Site YSSF3. This site exists on Sage Creek upstream of all potential
Yoast Mine discharges. Its flow hydrograph indicates the lowest peak
flow since 1994 occurred this year.
- NPDE519. Construction of this pond was completed in September 2001.
No discharge has occurred yet.
- NPDE512. Reconstruction of the water augmentation Pond Y1 (Site
YSSF2) was completed on September 13, 1999. It is now referred to as
Pond 012 (NPDESI2). This pond began to flow again (after
reconstruction) in April 2000. Average flow in 2000 was 0.089 cfs and
in 2001 it was 0.060 cfs. A statistical summary of baseline chemistry .
data from Site YSSF2 (Y1 outflow) and Y553 (Y1 inflow) is provided in
~ 10
I
