1993 Annual Hydrologic Report
Page 9
roads damp. Underground approximately 4800 gallons of water per
day, 3 days per week were used. Usage on the surface roads was
approximately 12,000 gallons of water per day, 4 days per week,
75% of the year. Water for the surface roads was taken from an
approved point of diversion in the Highline canal.
A summary of the estimated consumptive use of water is as
follows:
Total Gallons/ Gallons/
Source Gallons raw ton clean ton
Domestic
•
Surface Facilities 298,000 0.5 0.9
Preparation Plant 3,430,000 6.0 10.2
Mine
Miriirig 3,740,000 6.5 11.1
Preparation Plant 3,680,000 6.4 10.9
Underground Roads 750,000 1.3 2.2
Highline Canal
Surface Roads 1,872,000 3.3 5.6

TOTAL 13,770,000 24.0 40.9
IMPACTS
The total dissolved solids for the mine discharges calculated
with average TDS and total flow for the year come out to be 83.0
tons for 001, 1277.8 tons for 002 and 412.4 tons for 004. These
discharges represent .113$ of the 1.57 million tons calculated to
be carried by the River. During the next year the discharge of
TDS is expected to decrease slightly from the Roadside mine and
may increase slightly from the Cameo No.l Mine if mining is
resumed. Long term discharge from the Cameo No. 1 Mine will
cease upon completion of mining. At the Roadside Mine, water is
expected to continue to discharge from 002.
There was no detectable effect of mining on flows in Cottonwood
and Rapid Creeks. Mining advance will be beyond SWGS-02 in the
next year or so. An increase in inflows is expected under
Cottonwood Creek as mining progress south, but is not expected to
significantly influence the flow in the Creek.
A stability analysis of the Cameo Refuse Pile No. 1 subsequent to
this water year indicated a complicated series of isolated water
levels in the CRDA No.l which are closely related to
precipitation events. Additional monitoring of isolated zones in
