1.0 Introduction <br />1.2.4. Alluvial Wells <br />CLAW-1: A dip sample from an alluvial well located in the Ciruela Canyon alluvium at the mouth of <br />Cimela Canyon. It was established to monitor potential effects of Golden Eagle mining and <br />surface facilities activities in the canyon and coal processing waste bank construction. Data <br />collected during this yeaz at this station are presented in Table A-1. Historical data (annual <br />minimum, maximum, mean) to date aze presented in Table A-2. <br />PAW-5: A dip sample from an alluvial welt located below PRS-2 at the Golden Eagle Mine entrance <br />(south side of the Purgatoire River). This sample station was established to gather baseline <br />data and to monitor quality of water in the alluvium above the Golden Eagle Mine facilities <br />area. Data collected during this yeaz at this station are presented in Table A-3. Data (annual <br />minimum, maximum, mean) from 1984 to date are presented in Table A-4. <br />PAW-6: A dip sample from an alluvial well located adjacent to PRS-3. This station was established to <br />monitor Purgatoire alluvium effects from mine discharge, existing coal refuse and other <br />potential effects of mining below the Golden Eagle Mine. Data collected during this year at <br />this station are presented in Table A-5. Data (annual minimum, maximum, mean) from 1984 <br />to date are presented in Table A-6. <br />1.2.5. Bedrock Wells <br />NM-20: Station NM-20, a well located between Santistevan and Snake Canyons, was established to <br />monitor the level of water in overburden to better evaluate the impact on groundwater from <br />advancing mining activities. Data is presented in Table A-7. Historical data (annual <br />minimum, maximum, mean) to date are presented in Table A-8. <br />NM-21: Station NM-21, a well located between Snake and Gold Canyons, was established to monitor <br />the level of water in the Maxwell coal seam to better evaluate the impact on groundwater from <br />advancing mining activities. This well had a pump which was out of service and no data <br />could be collected. Data is presented in Table A-9 with historic data in Table A-10. <br />NIvf-22: Station NM-22, a well located at the head of Pratt Canyon, was established to monitor the <br />level of water in overburden to better evaluate the impact on groundwater from advancing <br />mining activities. Data is presented in Table A-11. Historical data (annual minimum, <br />maximum, mean) to date aze presented in Table A-12. <br />SF-2: Station SF-2, a well, located in the upper reaches of Cherry Canyon, was established [o <br />monitor the level of groundwater in overburden. This information is to be used to evaluate <br />the impact of mining activities on groundwater. Data collected during this yeaz is presented in <br />Table A-13. Data (annual minimum, maximum, mean) collected from 1994 to date are <br />presented in Table A-14. <br />1.2.6. Golden Eagle Mine Water Levels <br />GEM-l: Station GEM-1 is the intake air shaft in the Golden Eagle Mine facilities azea. This shaft is <br />used to monitor the water level in the mine as it is allowed to fill.
