Mr. George Patterson
Energy Fuels Coal, Inc.
June 24, 2004
Page 2
3. There appears to be data transcription errors and inconsistencies in the
presentation of the 2003 water year analytical data. The following problems were
identified.
a) Table I, 2003 Groundwater Quality Statistics is precisely the same data
presented for the 2002 AHR.
b) Information on the water level graphs need only be presented for the
current water year (through 09/03).
c) Laboratory analytical data sheets need only be presented for the current
water year (through 09/03).
d) The data presented in Tables, 2, 3, 4, and 5 do not appeaz to be the correct
mean values based on the data contained in Appendices B and C.
Please revise and resubmit the 2003 AHR with corrected data tables as deemed
appropriate.
4. Wells 79-3 and SP-O1 are not shown on the Mine Area Monitoring Stations Map
(Drawing 1) contained in the AHR. Please update Drawing No. 1 to include these
monitoring locations.
5. In anticipation of final bond release, Kerr should consider revisiting the sampling
and analysis of wells 79-1, 79-2, 79-3, and 79-61 in the neaz future. According to
the approved monitoring plan, sampling of these wells is required in the last two
years preceding final bond release.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this review, please call me at (303) 866-
4936.
Sincerely,
i~PP ~~
Michael P. Boulay
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Sandy Brown/ CDMG
Susie Werner/ MWH
