' Ken Coa! Compa~ry 1991 Annna! Hydrology Report ~ 1
1.0 OPERATIONAL CONDITIONS
Mining and reclamation activities at the Kerr Mine and Loadout continued during
the 1991 water year at a capacity less than designed and permitted. Coal
production for 1991 resulted in the removal of approximately 62,400 tons, which
is slightly over 7% of the permitted capacity. This is a result of continuing poor
` market conditions. As in 1990, mining activities were confined to the Pit 1 area
and no additional areas were disturbed. Approximately 364,500 BCY were
excavated from the northend of Pit 1 and backfilled into the south end of Pit 1.
Approximately 440,100 CCY were removed from the existing overburden
stockpile and placed in the backfill in the 720 Pit. No new areas were backfilled
to the permitted postmining topography during the year, therefore no final
grading, topsoiling or final reclamation was conducted.

M
ACZ lnr. • P.O.
