Conrparry 199/ Annua/ Hydrology Report • 7
4.0 MINE AREA ALLUVIAL GROUND WATER
Water level measurements were collected from alluvial well AO-2 on a monthly
basis during the year. The field data collected are included in Exhibit 1, 1991
Field Data. Please note that no sample was analyzed. No sample could be
taken in because the well was dry.
The mean field parameter values and analyses parameter values for the last six
years are presented in Table 4, Historic Mine Area Alluvial Water Quality Data.
Comparison of values over the past six years shows that alluvial ground water
demonstrates much more variability than coal aquifer and overburden ground
water; however no definite trends are evident. The variability in water quality
parameters is influenced directly by seasonal and year-to-year variations in
precipitation, and the variation from year to year in the number of samples
collected. In 1991, low water levels resulted in no samples collected.
ACZ lnc. • P.O. Bor 77~0J8 • Srean~6oar Spnrtgs, Colorado 84177 • (3 0318 7 9-6?60
