DMG Permit No. M-88-112 Division of Mineralsand Geology December Monthly Sampling Dear Mr. Dillie: All required sampling was completed during December. All surface water stations were inspected weekly, RS-3, RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry. Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. The piezomelers on the main embankment of the tailing impoundment were checked on December 28, [he piezomelers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. The west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on December 28, with the following results: BF-I was 28.88 ft., BF-2 was 32.46 ft., BF-4 was 26.02 ft. and BF-6 was 31.85 it. Other piezometers in the West Mine area were also checked with the following results: PW-1 was 29.33 ft., PW-2 was 29.50 ft., PW-3 was 36.78 ft. and PW-4 was 31.52 ft. The under drain was measured a[ approximately 30 gpm. On 12/28/01 an attempt was made to pump the collection pond leak detection system. The system was frozen and we were unable to get a measurement. The seeps remain dry. The water treatment plan[ discharged 9,320,200 gallons of water (28.60-acre feet) into the Rito Seco during the month of Derember. _ With DMC approval a total of 309,500 gallons (0.95-acre feet) of water was pumped from the evaporation system collection ponds to the tailings impoundment during December.
