• III IIIIIIIIIIIII III •
Ralston Quarry 1994 Annual Report
(Case No.s M80-1 and Z88-043)
Mining Activities
Per our approved resolutions, Asphalt Paving Co. continues to
progress from the south end of the dike in a northwest to southwest
angular vertical cut. This process screens the main crushing
operation from the view of residences to the east. Setbacks and
safety precautions comply with the operational plan submitted to
the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division.
We have continued maintenance of a hard surfaced road from
Highway 93 to the quarry pit area and portions of Colorado Highway
93. In order to maintain Colorado Highway 93, the acceleration and
de-acceleration lanes are periodically swept to clean dust or
spillage.
During the past year, Asphalt Paving Co. experienced a
decrease in demand for products from this quarry. We have removed
the two portable crushers and are operating with our previously
existing crushing spread. Other crushing activities continue as
they were the previous year.
Fencing surrounding the entire perimeter of all mining
operations is in compliance with our application as it relates to
fencing.
As indicated in the following chart, the quarry operated 208
days from July 1993 to June 1994. The production days are further
broken down for monthly review. Daily production dates are
available if requested.
Days of Quarry
Month Crushing
7/93 25 days
8/93 26 days
9/93 23 days
10/93 21 days
11/93 18 days
12/93 18 days
1/94 12 days
2/94 8 days
3/94 15 days
4/94 4 days
5/94 19 days
6/94 19 days
208 days = Total Quarry
Production Days
Blasting Record/Seismic Monitoring
The following record is our report of ground vibration and
air-borne effects from blasting conducted from June 8, 1993 through
June 15, 1994. The results of our monitoring satisfy required
standards, and were conducted in a safe, professional manner.
Detailed seismograph recordings are available at our office should
further review be necessary. Per the analysis of test data, the
ground motion has not exceeded the 0.5" per second allowed , nor
has the noise level exceeded the 130dB allowed.
