Main Administration Buildin¢:
Ground water levels measured at piezometer 98-03B during the 2nd quarter 2006 show an increase
to within 29 feet of the ground surface. This is a couple of feet higher than the ground water level
measured this time last yeaz. The ground water levels at this location have been increasing at this
location steadily (by a total of 9 feet) since 2002.
In addition, the ground water level measured at piezometer 98-23 during the 2°d quarter 2006 has
shown a significant increase since August 2005 (by 5 feet) and is continuing to rise post the spring
thaw.
The increase in ground water levels at this location is particularly of concern as a result of
movement experienced by the crane in the wazehouse towards the end of 2005. In addition, this is
the azea where a new pazlang lot has been proposed to be installed. This was not stabilized by piles
at the toe of the main landslide during 1998 and is therefore susceptible to significant landslide
activity when the colluvium becomes saturated. It is recommended that the horizontal drainage
wells located south of this azea be cleaned out with a high pressure hose to ensure that debris is not
restricting their drainage capacity.
Al] other piezometers measured at the Main Mine Site do not show ground water levels that are
unexpected based on historical seasonal data.
Barr Engineering Company 2n° Quarter 2006
' 06/2&03'1 Geotechnical Monitoring
