Dept. of Natural Resources
As was stated on Page 41 of our 1983 Seneca II Mine Annual Hydrology
Report, we sent a letter regarding some anomalous cadmium and lead
(not mentioned in the annual report) data to Ralph Poulsen of Bookcliffs
Laboratories. Mr. Poulsen promptly investigated these anomalous data.
The results of his investigation are included in the attached letter.'
In summary, it appears that some additional cadmium data experienced
the same instrument drift which occured on the samples analyzed November 29
and December 3, 1983. The corrected cadmium values are tabulated
on the last page of his letter. Apparently, the anomalous lead data
is in fact anomalous but Mr. Poulsen states that the laboratory will
continue to investigate the passible causes of the periodically high
lead values.
If you have any questions about this matter, please don't hesitate
to call.
Sincerely,
`~ ~-~
J.
