The drilling program initially planned three wells to
be drilled for cavity #4. WRN 4-1 V and WRN 4-2V were drilled as recovery wells for what
was planned to be a 3500 foot cavity. During the drilling of the horizontal well, WRN 4-
3H, a fracture system was encountered which ended the lateral section at approximately
1200 feet. A third recovery well was then drilled {WRN 4A-4V) to intercept the lateral
section of WRN 4-3H before the fracture system which had previously been cemented
off in the horizontal section. This failed to isolate the cavity from the fracture system and
a submersible pump had to be installed to recover pregnant liquor. Currently WRN 4-1V
and WRN 4-2V are shut in. WRN 4-1V is planned to be converted to a monitor well and
WRN 4-2V will eventually be a recovery well for the extension to cavity #4.
At the end of 1995, production was being sustained from cavity #4 (WRN 4-3H and WRN
4A-4V) and cavity #1 (Na 26-88-1 and Na 26-90-5).
Cavity #3 (Na 26-93-3V and Na 26-93-4H) was shut in because of chronic plugging and
high chloride. Cavity #2 (Na 26-91-1V and Na 26-91-2H) remained shut in.
13
