•
AQUATIC AND WET III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII SULTANT~
LAURANNE P. RINK, PRESIDENT MELANY C. FISK
JOHN T WINDELL, VICE PRESIDENT CHRISTOPHER F. KNUD-HANSEN
28 August 1990
Mr. Paul Banks
Western Technologies Inc.
13949 W. Colfax Avenue, No. 140
Golden, Colorado 80401
Dear Paul:
Enclosed please find two blueline prints of the Dowe Flats wetland
maps. I compiled all the wetland information we have for the
property onto one map. Note that the wetland inventory completed
in 1987 and verified by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps)
is shaded in green. The wetlands inventoried in the proposed
transportation corridor, the Garner Dairy, and the Dickens-Peiker
property are shaded on the wetland map in orange. These additional
properties were inventoried this summer and the wetland delineation
is considered preliminary until the Corps verifies our findings.
Wetland acreages were calculated and are reported as follows:
Wetlands verified 1987 (green shade): 45.1 acres
Wetlands in transportation corridor (orange shade): 7.9 acres
Wetlands in Garner Dairy property (orange shade): 4.0 acres
Wetlands in Dickens-Peicker property: none
•
Wetlands within the Garner Dairy, and the transportation corridor
north of Highway 66 appear to result from irrigation tailwaters and
canal seepage. I recommend that you have your legal counsel
investigate the possibility of installing subsurface drainage
structures to adequatel}• eliminate standing water. You may be able
to drain legally since the property has historically and is
currently in agricultural use.
Call me if you have questions or a need to discuss specifics.
You s truly,
I<
Lauranne P.
