1994 ANNUAL MINE INFLOW REPORT
Introduction
In compliance with Stipulation No.29, Permit No. C-81-038, the
Operator submits the following Annual Mine Inflow Report for the
period of July 1, 1993 through June 30, 1994.
Minims Locations and Projections
Panel Y had progressed to crosscut 24 by July 1, 1993 and
development continued through crosscut 54 (the end of the panel) by
January 1, 1994. Panel Y was then retreat mined back to crosscut
34 by June 30, 1994. Panel Z development had progressed to
crosscut 7 by July 30, 1993 and was completed an retreated back to
crosscut 33 by June 30, 1994.
Mining projections for the period of July, 1994 through June 1995
include the continued retreat of Panels Y & Z, advance of the 1st
• East Mains and Panel X and the development and partial retreat of
Panel ZZ.
Mine Inflow
The mine inflow study at the West Mine was completed during June,
1994. Retreat mining of Panels Y and Z was underway during this
time. Roof and floor seeps were encountered in the development of
Panel Y beyond cross cut 34 however, unstable roof conditions
prevented examination on 6-29-94. These flows were minor and
similar to previous flows in that they were of short duration.
No measurable inflows were noted during the mine inflow inspection.
Ten locations exhibited minor seepage from both roof and floor
sources, and nine locations were mapped as having accumulated water
in sumps. Leakage from in-mine water distribution and dust
suppression systems contributed to the water accumulations in at
least three of the sump locations. No measurable flows were
occurring at any site during the 1994 mine inflow monitoring study.
u
