The 2002 <br />level of 51.5% is significantly below average, presumably in response to the continuing dry <br />conditions. <br />Herbaceous Production <br />Calculation of 90 percent of the production performance standard appropriate for 2002 sampling <br />• is as follows: <br />90 percent of the Herbaceous Production Standard = 0.90 [0.83(435.4) + 0.17{804.8)] = 448.4 <br />oven-dry Ib/ac. <br />As can be seen in Figure 2, all reclaimed areas sampled equaled or exceeded 90 percent of the <br />herbaceous production standard, although the data are not corrected for "allowable" production <br />(i.e. subtracting production from annuallbiennial species that exceed 10% of total production). It <br />is likely that even the young 1998 reclamation would meet the standard using allowable <br />production only. <br />• 16 <br />
