Please refer to the Annual Report Map for <br /> 1996 for the locations of areas discussed in this report. This pit <br /> HAS NOT been granted a Temporary Cessation and it HAS operated more <br /> than 180 days this year. A Technical Revision was approved on <br /> August 21, 1996 that addressed items concerning reclamation and <br /> availability of topsoil needed to cover the disturbed area. The <br /> Financial Warranty was increased to $29, 300 at that time, the <br /> permitted area is 14 .20 ± and the pit is not Phased. A sign that <br /> conforms with rule 6.7 Signs and Markers is installed at the entrance <br /> to the pit. <br /> We will deal specifically with each of the Annual Report <br /> requirements as outlined in Rule 1. 15 of the Rules and Regulations, <br /> and in the annual notice letter. <br /> (1) Mining will begin on the western 1.87 ac. ± parcel in 1997. <br /> (2) We have been filling the pit with clean fill consisting of <br /> concrete, old asphalt and dirt (brown) . Reclamation has been <br /> successful in regards with the backfilling. Backfilling will <br /> continue until the site is completely filled to the same <br /> approximate elevation as the railroad. The topsoil stockpiles <br /> have not been disturbed this year. The northern 1.70 acres ± <br /> was resoiled this spring (tan) with material available <br /> offsite. <br />
