hope that we can work out this difference in opinion.
Additionally, during the time the sampling was to occur ground
conditions were not favorable for gaining access to the wells.
Finally, for the last few weeks of the month separate inspections
were conducted by both the Division and the Office of Surface
Mining which reduced the amount of time available to complete the
sampling.
A final point regarding the conclusions is that the discussion
centering around restoration of predisturbance geochemical
conditions has been presented in the two previous AHR's without
disagreement from the Division on the interpretation of the data.
It would be beneficial to Colorado Yampa to understand the
Division's new position on this item. The statement made by the
Division did not provide for any of the reasons used to arrive at
the point of disagreeing with the CYCC's statement. I would be
happy to discuss this with you at your convenience.
CYCC greatly appreciates the patience the Division exhibited in
understanding the cause of the delay for submittal of the AHR. I
think you are quite familiar with the software problems that we
experienced it trying to get this report completed and submitted to
the Division. CYCC will be fine tuning the program over the coming
months so that the remaining bugs can be worked out and preparation
and submittal of the report will be more efficient.
If there are further questions or comments, please contact me at
your convenience.
Sincerely,
Richard Mills
Manager, Surface/Environment
attachments
r~:~:~~awwe~~.c~.rc,
