A map prepared according to the
standards of Rule 2.10 and showing the location of each monitoring
well should be submitted each year with the report.
I could not locate the hydrologic monitoring plan in the permit
text or appendices. I can only assume at this point that the
operator has accurately represented the monitoring plan
requirements in the AHR.
Monitoring Frequency
The operator met the required monitoring frequency for 1994.
Water Ouality and ouantity
There are 24 wells in the area, none closer than 2000 feet to the
permit area. Seven of these wells are located and completed in the
alluvium and colluvium of Ennis Draw and the rest are completed in
the Larimie-Fox Hills formation. The mine predicts an
immeasureable impact to quantity and quality of the water resources
in the area.
There are no apparent impacts in either quality or quantity of the
groundwater in Ennis Draw. Well DH96 downstream of the mine shows
a level very similar to the baseline level. No significant change
in dissolved solids is apparent.
