Mathews
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
423 Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203

Cola 0:;:, ,;. ~~ - - .. .
Dear Dan:
Enclosed, please find the following:
(1) Alluvial Well field test results for 1983 at the
Bear #3 Mine.
(2) Quarterly Sample Results taken in 1983 at the Bear
#3 Mine.
(3) A report from Ralph Poulsen of Bookcliffs Labor-
• atories which summarizes the results of the _
quarterly samples for 1983 at the Bear #3 Mine.
As the Bear Coal Company does not employ a hydrologist, we
asked Mr. Poulsen to analyze the data and submit his conclusions.
The only problem we have with his summary is in his assumption
that the sample labeled AAI dated 02/28/83 should have been
labeled AAIII. After consideration of this, I cannot see how
the sample could have been mixed up, however human errors are
possible. This sample was not taken on 02/17/83 when I ordinar-
ily take the quarterly samples because well AA 3 was frozen at
the time of the field test. Therefore, the samples in question
were taken the week after the field test.
If you should have any questions, or require additional
information, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Be Coal Company, Inc.
Cr N. rin er
Office Manager
Enclosure
•
