<br />~~~ I~~I~~~~~"~~ I~~ <br />SUBSIDENCE MONITORING REPORT <br />CYPRUS EMPIRE CORPORATION, EAGLE MINE N0.5 <br />JANUARY-JUNE 1995 <br />1.0 INTRODUCTION <br />RECEIVED <br />OCT 1 p <br />1995 <br />Division ar ~~,,,,e,d,5 g Geolo9Y <br />This report summarizes the survey results of subsidence monitoring over E-seam <br />longwall mining panels at Cyprus Empire Corporation's (CEC) Eagle Mine No. 5. This <br />report covers the period of January through June 1995. <br />Monitoring point locations, surface features, overburden thickness contours, and the <br />monthly mining advance are illustrated on the attached map titled, "E-Seam Longwall <br />Subsidence Monitors." <br />2.0 MONITORING SCHEDULE <br />As per the approved monitoring schedule, subsidence surveys were conducted in March <br />and June 1995. The surveys included all monitors on lines A, B, C, D, and J and the <br />three highway stations. <br />3.0 MINING ADVANCE <br />Mining of the 3 East longwall panel advanced approximately 1600 feet from January to <br />June 1995. During the first quarter 1995, mining advanced beneath the Amoco pipeline. <br />Monthly advance is illustrated on the attached map. <br />4.0 SUBSIDENCE RESULTS <br />The results of the monitoring surveys are presented in the attached tables. The <br />accuracy specification on the monitoring survey is 0.1 ft. Listed below are the highlights <br />for each line. <br />Line Maximum Subsidence 1/95-6/95 Total Subsidence to Date <br />A 0.0 ft. -6.9 ft. <br />B -0.1 ft. -7.1 ft. <br />C -0.3 ft. -4.6 ft. <br />D -0.1 ft. -9.6 ft. <br />J -0.2 ft. -11.9 ft. <br />The highway monitoring stations have not changed in elevation within the accuracy <br />specifications. <br />No substantial cracks have appeared. Small cracks, ranging in horizontal spread from <br />less than an inch up to three inches, have been located and will continue to be visually <br />monitored. <br />
