BANTA, Director
August 22, 1988
Ms. Linda Limbach
Eastside Coal Company, Inc.
P.O. Box 161
Siel, CO 81652
Re: Permit No. C-84-063, Subsidence Survey for 1988
Dear Ms. Limbach:
Enclosed is Dr. Pendleton's comments on your 1988 subsidence survey. He makes
two major points in his review. One is a need to have the accuracy limit
calculated for the second order survey and incorporated in the report. This
should be done for the 1989 subsidence survey. His other point addresses the
possibility of Monument No. 2 falling within the angle-of-draw in the next
years mine plan. Eastside needs to take care that this does not occur prior
to collecting baseline elevation on this monument.
In summary, the accuracy limits should be included in the 1989 survey. No
revision is needed to the permit to include this. Survey of Monument No. 2
needs to occur prior to any possibility of the underground workings
approaching the angle-of-draw for this monument. Therefore, it may be more
prudent to survey Monument No. 2 in the 1989 subsidence survey.
If you have any questions please call.
Sincerely,
~~- ~~~
Candace M.
