Bear Coal Company
5
May 11, 1994
On October 11, 1993 UTE Engineering and Surveying established a
new slope stability monitoring station. This monument is located
on the hillside below the fan structure. See enclosed sketch for
location. This monument is a ~5 rebar with a 2-inch aluminum cap
- set in concrete. This station will be referred to as U-24.
The values for U-24 are as follows:
Northing Easting Elevation
October, 1993 404,398.97 1,441,948.61 6083.54
May, 1994 404,401.36 1,441,947.94 6082.55
Relative movement between surveys is shown in the following
Table.
Table 2 Slope Stability - Relative Movement
Period of June, 1993 to October, 1993
TABLE 2-SLOPE STABILITY
RELATIVE MOVEMENT
OCTOBER, 1993 TO MAY, 1994
Point Horizontal Distance Bearing Elevation
No.
U16 0.07 N07°19'W -0.07
U17 3.39 N25°59'W -0.70
U18 1.78 N03o25'E -0.45
U19 1.55 NO5°20'W -0.09
U23 0.04 N26°32'E -0.02
U24 2.48 N15°40'W -0.99
The change in horizontal position can be attributed to a variety
of factors (1) the error of closure and adjustment inherent in
any survey; (2) actual movement of the monuments due to sub-
sidence.
If you have any questions, please call.
~/
E.
