Bear Coal Company
2

May 11, 1994
Our subsidence and slope stability surveys up through July of
1990 were performed using a Wild T-2, 1 Second Theodolite with a
top mount K & E Autoranger Electronic Distance Meter. For sur-
veys performed from November of 1990 to the present date, we have
used a Lietz Set 2 Total Station which is a 1 Second Theodolite
with a Coaxial Electronic Distance Meter. Starting with the July
1991 survey UTE is using a new coordinate geometry software
program to adjust the survey data. The software is new but uses
the same Crandall method of adjustment.
Slope Stability Stations at Bear #3 Are Tied to D-11-U and D-12-U
through a series of primary loops:
Bear #3 U 16
U 17
U 18
U 19 4
U 23 5
U 24 6
Table 1 is a list of slope stability Stations with their coor-
dinates and elevations from August, 1985, through May, 1994 and
the resulting mean values.
TABLE 1
SLOPE STABILITY
BEAR MINE NO. 3
Northing Fasting Elevation
STATION U16
August, 1985 404,057.57 1,441,800.00 6267.62
July, 1986 404,057.62 1,441,799.98 6270.39
November, 1986 404,057.61 1,441,799.98 6270.36
July, 1987 404,057.70 1,441,800.04 6270.33
October, 1987 404,057.73 1,441,800.05 6270.37
June, 1988 404,057.86 1,441,800.06 6270.35
November, 1988 404,057.85 1,441,800.07 6270.38
July, 1989 404,058.03 1,441,800.06 6270.37
November 1989 404,058.06 1,441,800.02 6270.39
July, 1990 404,058.12 1,441,800.04 6270.35
November, 1990 404,058.14 1,441,800.06 6270.37
July, 1991 404,058.28 1,441,800.10 6270.35
November, 1991 404,058.32 1,441,800.12 6270.36
July, 1992 404,058.43 1,441,800.05 6270.34
November, 1992 404,058.44 1,441,800.04 6270.37
June, 1993 404,058.61 1,441,800.01 6270.28
October, 1993 404,058.58 1,441,800.09 6270.33
May, 1994 404,058.64 1,441,800.08 6270.26
MEAN 404,058.08 1,441,800.04 6270.351
1 Mean Elevation does not include August, 1995
4 Monument = #5 Rebar
5 Monument = #7 Rebar in concrete
6 Monument = #6 Rebar
