January 28, 1996
~` ';~IV~Lti
Mr. Harry Ranney
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
215 Centennial Building
13 ] 3 Sherman Street
Denver- CO 80203-2273
I;N ;~ 9 1991

RE: Annual Reclamation Report for 1996 -Chimney Rock Mioe
(Permit No. C-S1-023)
Dear Mr. Ranney,
Kaiser Ventures, Inc. hereby submits the following information which summarizes reclamation
activities which were conducted at the above referenced mine during 1996. Total disturbance at the
mine site totals approximately 110 acres. All disturbance areas have been reclaimed with the
exception of the sediment control structures. Various reclamation activities have been conducted
over the past 12 years on areas of the mine site as described in the permit document.
The only reclamation activity conducted during 1996 vas the rework of terrace and ditch erosion
which occurred on the west side of the Barren Ridge reclaimed area (see attached map). This area
accounted for less than one-tenth acre and was seeded with the approved seed mixture described in
the permit document. Minor maintenance was also conducted on small washouts which formed on
the reclaimed slopes as a result of rodent activity and precipitation events.
Should you have questions or need additional information concerning this report, please do not
hesitate to contact Mr. Mike Keegan at Kaiser or let me know.
Sincerely,
~ 9~~
Jerry H.
