Technical Revision 2 was approved on January
28, 2002.
Chemical herbicide that was applied to the shoulder areas of the access road last year
successfully killed the knapweed that had begun to establish a stand.
Gravel was mined at the south boundary of the permit azea. This was the first step in
opening up the adjacent BLM Pit #1.
Technical Revision 2 also requested that a part of the Hal] Pit area be allowed to be used
as a grave] processing area and gravel storage area during the operation of the adjoining
BLM Pit #1. At this time subsoil from BLM Pit #1 is being stored at the Hall Pit.
Approximately 51,000 tons of road base material was processed during the summer and
was stored at the Hall Pit. Most of this road base stockpile remains at the Hall Pit.
A map of the permit area is attached. This map shows the area that has been affected by
mining and related activities at the site. It also shows the area that was included in the
Technical Revision as processing and storage areas for the neighboring BLM Pit #1.
RECEIVED
DEC 0 9 2002
Division of Minerals and Ceolagy
